Rates & Conditions

While I would love to spread my wit and wisdom freely to everyone who wants it, I do need to make a living. While I don't have set rates, I will usually ask whatever level of fees or payments are usual for the sector in question. I will consider writing or speaking pro bono in some cases, so it's worth getting in touch, but please keep your expectations realistic. If your sector doesn't usually pay for writing or speaking, I will usually be happy to go along with that – but I have to prioritise paying work. Longer term consulting work is less likely to be feasible without payment.

If my work with you raises any specific out-of-pocket costs, such as travel, I will expect those to be met.

If any proposed work conflicts with my personal ethics, I won't be able to take it on, regardless of level of pay. Given the areas I work in, this isn't likely to come up. If it does, I'll let you know. There are some other limitations that I will mention if they become relevant.
